Azure Integration Services

Building integration on Azure PaaS — Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Functions and Event Grid.

Microsoft BizTalk Server proved itself a versatile and dependable integration platform, and we developed and supported BizTalk solutions for almost twenty years. Since 2018 we have increasingly built solutions that run on Azure Integration Services instead.

That means infrastructure defined in Bicep, deployment through pipelines rather than by hand, managed identity instead of stored keys, and enough instrumentation that you can answer "where did that message go?" without guessing.

Azure Logic Apps

Workflow orchestration on Logic Apps Standard, including local C# functions running in-process.

The arrival of local functions in Logic Apps Standard in 2024 was a significant boost to both the flexibility of the platform and the productivity of the developer. A single VS Code workspace now manages the workflows and the C# functions together, and they execute in the same process at runtime.

We use it for process manager patterns, business rules, on-premises file and SMB access through VNET integration, and the long tail of connectors that replaces what BizTalk adapters used to do.

API Management

The gateway layer: security, throttling, transformation and versioning in front of your services.

API Management is the unsung hero of Azure Integration Services, quietly keeping the flow of data and services moving. It is the gatekeeper that makes APIs secure, reliable and scalable while keeping things straightforward for developers and consumers alike.

We use it for OAuth2 and subscription-key security, SOAP-to-REST transformation for legacy consumers, request logging, product and subscription automation from pipelines, and tracing when a call does not behave.

BizTalk Server support and migration

Keeping BizTalk dependable for as long as you need it — and moving off it when you are ready.

BizTalk remains a core part of many integration landscapes and we are here to keep it running smoothly: troubleshooting, performance tuning, high availability, deployment via BTDF, and the ongoing maintenance that maximises the life of the investment.

When the time comes to move, migration is staged rather than big-bang. We map the orchestrations, ports and schemas you actually depend on, rebuild them on Azure, and run the two side by side until the new path is proven.
